About Us
One Water launched back in 2005 with a simple vision: to sell bottled water in the UK to fund water projects across the world.
The name One represents the idea that you can’t change a billion people’s lives, but if you can change One life, one day at a time, that’s a definition of success.
Back in December 2003, the same day that Saddam Hussain was found in his bunker, a photo appeared on the back of the Guardian newspaper – of a young girl sitting next to a padlocked tap in an informal urban settlement in Nairobi, Kenya.
Duncan Goose had just returned from 2 years motorbiking around the world. Having experienced, first hand, life without safe, clean water, when he was caught in hurricane Mitch in Honduras, this photo inspired him to start One Water.
It was a photo that would change 5 million lives…
One is a life-changing brand.
Every One funds clean water projects in areas that need it most. So far, we have helped The One Foundation raise over £30 million, changing the lives of over 5 million people.
But there are still 703 million people in the world who do not have access to clean water.
Water is essential for life, yet millions of people around the world are still living without access to safe drinking water. Over 3 million people die every year from waterborne diseases and most are children under 5 years old. Lack of access to safe water leaves families trapped in poverty, as they are forced to spend up to 4 hours a day collecting water at the expense of working or attending school.
